ABOUT MESSINIAN

Known to fans across the globe as the "Voice of Dubstep," Messinian (James Fiorella) has spent two decades as one of electronic music's most recognizable vocalists, MCs, and producers. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he came up immersed in a wide musical world before relocating east and cutting his teeth in the raw, emerging club scenes that would shape his sound.

A natural genre-blender, Messinian built his reputation by refusing to be pinned down. One moment he's spitting hard-edged hip-hop bars, the next he's delivering a soulful hook, layering vocals over dubstep, drum & bass, electro, drumstep, and beyond. That versatility made him a go-to collaborator, lending his commanding voice to some of the most respected names in bass music and landing his work in platinum-selling video games and action-sports broadcasts.

His pedigree runs through some of the genre's most respected collectives. Messinian served as the voice of DESTROID, the heavyweight live bass project alongside Excision and KJ Sawka, and he's a longtime member of Planet of the Drums, the legendary drum & bass crew rounded out by AK1200, Dieselboy, and DJ Dara - cementing his place at the intersection of dubstep and D&B royalty.

Live, he's a force. Armed with equal blasts of dubstep, drumstep, and drum & bass, Messinian has torn the roof off clubs and festivals from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Johannesburg, South Korea, Australia, and Estonia, building a global reputation for wild, high-voltage sets that hit from the very first note. His catalog runs deep, from early anthems through recent releases like RUCKUS (2023) and Locked In (2025), and he continues to release relentlessly.

Messinian remains an underground veteran still pushing forward. A genre-defying artist who has never stopped chasing raw emotion, intensity, and the roar of the crowd.
