Spades is the brainchild of Chicago/Denver-based producer Joe Grothe. Inspired by an array of different musical styles, textures, and backgrounds, he has emerged onto the scene as someone constantly pushing boundaries between sub-genres, with a result that is usually just as hard-hitting as it is conceptual.

With releases on Wormhole, SubCarbon, and Bassrush, supplemented by a healthy stream of self-released singles and EPs, Spades is breaking out as a major force in the bass music scene.
